ABOUT THE AUTHOR
After four decades as an award-winning marketing copywriter, Barbara delved into non-fiction and poetry writing and is widely published in three Chicken Soup for the Soul books, magazines, and other print media. Born in Cuba, her works are inspired by the people and places that have colored her life in the US and abroad. She has conducted book signings at Barnes & Noble and charities, was a guest author on Norwalk Library's Non-Fiction Chat with Tina, and was interviewed live on WGCH radio (Greenwich, CT). One of her non-fiction stories was featured in the Chicken Soup for the Soul podcast. Barbara was selected as a featured author for the 2023 Writers Read live show at City Winery in New York City. Her professional writing credits include public relations, television, and marketing efforts for Fortune 500 companies, government, and private industry.
As an experienced public speaker, Barbara is booked for inspirational talks, sharing uplifting stories, amazing studies on the healing powers of kindness and laughter, and writing tips. She lectures at elderly care residences, guiding and inspiring residents to pen their stories. Her extensive public speaking credits include conducting numerous workshops and presentations for major corporations and Connecticut state agencies. Barbara is an adjunct professor at Norwalk Community College, teaching entrepreneurship and marketing. She is a volunteer mentor and competition judge for high school business students and a strong supporter of music and the arts in public schools and her community. Barbara earned a degree in Communications from Rutgers University. She resides in Stamford, CT, where she co-owns a marketing agency with her husband and is the proud parent of two daughters and three granddaughters. |
